Health Canada recently gave the centre the nod for human clinical trials of a candidate vaccine for COVID-19, the respiratory virus that has killed more than 325,000 people worldwide, including 57 in Nova Scotia. The CCV, which operates as part of a collaboration among Dalhousie University, the IWK Health Centre and the Nova Scotia Health Authority, will work with the vaccine-maker CanSino Biologics of China and Canada’s National Research Council.
