Thyssenkrupp makes bold move in Manitoba Journal of Commerce Thyssenkrupp Elevator Canada has announced it has acquired Winnipeg Elevator Group (WEG), and also that it has been awarded the contract to modernize 12 elevators in Winnipeg’s tallest building. WEG has been an elevator service provider in the Winnipeg area for more than 50 years and maintains approximately 1,000 elevators, stairlifts, escalators and dumbwaiters in the region, stated a July 7 release.
