Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue joined Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to sign a Shared Stewardship agreement to establish a framework for federal and state agencies to improve collaboration in responding to natural resource concerns and ecological challenges in Texas. The agreement, also referred to as a memorandum of understanding (MOU), is between the Forest Service and Natural Resources Conservation Service — both part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture — and the State of Texas' Parks and Wildlife Department, as well as the Texas A&M Forest Service.
