The definitive English version of the CEFR Companion Volume (2020) has now been released. Translations are underway, most of which will be available during the year. Much more user-friendly than the 2018 provisional version, the final release builds on and extends the CEFR 2001, representing a terrific tool for all language educators.
Practitioners need not refer back to the 2001 document since all descriptors have been updated to gender-neutral and modality-inclusive forms.
The new CEFR Companion Volume (ISBN 978-92-871-8621-8) is available as a free downloaded from the CEFR home page or by direct link.
Still to come: A tool for users to compose their sets of customized descriptors.
