Nespresso introduced new coffee capsules in May that use 80% recycled aluminum, continuing what the company calls its "journey towards circularity going further to minimize waste and maximize reuse of product materials." Recycled aluminum requires less energy to produce than other materials and protects coffee aromas and freshness, the company said in a statement. The new capsule uses less aluminum than past Nespresso products making it 8% lighter.
