Growing LNG sector means big boost in jobs, wages Canadian HR Reporter Growing the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry in British Columbia (B.C.) could create thousands of jobs, boost total wages and the country’s gross domestic product by billions, according to a report from the Conference Board of Canada. The report estimates that growing the industry would lead 96,550 new jobs, broken down into sectors that include: engineering and construction; retail and wholesale trade; professional, scientific and technical services; mining, quarrying and oil and gas extraction; manufacturing; transportation and warehousing; and finance, insurance, real estate, rental and leasing.
