French Teacher and Curriculum Design/Technology Coach Catherine Ousselin will lead two feature presentations at CLWB this year.
The first — Incorporating ACTFL’s Guiding/Core Principles and Global Competency (and the CEFR) into Technology — is designed for those transitioning from grammar-based to proficiency-based units and looking for feedback strategies, authentic resources, and ideas for communicative activities. Looking at three units designed using ACTFL’s Keys to Planning for Learning, participants will interact with a thematic unit template, technology tools, and curated resources that support activities and assessments.
The second — Technology Tools for All Three Modes of Communication — focuses on integrating Web-based tools, apps, and techniques for linguistic expression and assessment. Participants will explore Digital Storytelling, Social Media, and apps for World Languages in all three modes of communication via demonstrations, facilitated group work, and guided research.
Catherine Ousselin is the president of the Washington Association for Language Teaching (WAFLT-WA) and is active in the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT).
