10,000 Pennsylvania landowners sought to buffer their streams Patriot-News The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has unveiled a new “Buffer My Stream” program, with the goal of encouraging 10,000 Pennsylvania landowners with streams on their property to plant native trees and shrubs along the water’s edge to improve water quality and reduce erosion. DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn described streamside buffers as “a natural way for agricultural and residential landowners to create cleaner water and improve the stewardship of their land."
