This four-hour Instructional Course will present facts on spatial neglect and its clinical impact. Spatial neglect is a disorder that frequently occurs after stroke. It is best defined as failure or slowness to attend, orient, and/or make movements towards a stimulus that is presented in the space contralateral to the brain lesion. Prism Adaptation Treatment (PAT) is one of the most promising therapeutic interventions for spatial neglect. The latest stroke rehabilitation guidelines from the American Heart/Stroke Association recommend PAT.
