Register Today: 12-Month Extension Request to the Medi-Cal 2020 (Section 1115) Waiver Public Hearings DHCS Monday, August 10, 2020 – Second Public Hearing 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. On July 22, 2020, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) posted its proposed 12-month extension request to the Medi-Cal 2020 waiver. The Medi-Cal 2020 waiver is effective through December 31, 2020. Following the end of the waiver period, DHCS intended to launch California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM), a multi-year initiative to implement overarching policy changes across all Medi-Cal delivery systems. However, the COVID-19 public health emergency has greatly impacted all aspects of California’s healthcare delivery system. As a result, key partners and stakeholders, including managed care plans, providers and counties, requested a delay in implementing CalAIM to focus on addressing the pandemic. READ MORE
