Enthusiasm is Contagious By Joanna Aragon, CASC Secretary Early in my career, I was fortunate to have my own classroom for my core curriculum lessons and I had a poster on the wall that said, “Enthusiasm is Contagious!” Throughout my thirty-one year career, I have kept that phrase at the forefront of my mind. It was not until 2017, however, that the significance of that phrase manifested itself fully in my career. I joined the Board of the California Association of School Counselors in 2017 and was surrounded by school counselors, school counselor educators, and other school counseling allies. These amazing colleagues truly showed me the importance of being an advocate for our profession. As I sit here and write this article, several years have gone by since I first joined this incredible organization. Along the way, however, I have truly learned that being part of an organization like CASC can give you opportunities to advocate that you may not have otherwise, but the bottom line is that we can and should ALL be advocates for our profession.
