Judicial Council voted to sunset eviction rule California Courts Newsroom We are pleased at the decision reached by the Judicial Council on August 13 to end the temporary emergency rules on evictions and foreclosures at midnight, September 1. The Emergency Order preventing evictions, while well-intended, made it virtually impossible for property owners and managers to remove violent and dangerous tenants from properties at a time when our most vulnerable are being asked to stay home.
