Keynote speaker Katy Arnett is not “travelling light” to CLWB this October — she’ll be there with three different presentations.
In her keynote address, Evolving Inclusive Practices for the (Digital) Language Classroom, Arnett will discuss the concept of “evolution” as it applies to teaching and learning. In this interactive keynote, participants can use the Nearpod app to engage with the presentation as it happens as we explore ways to evolve our inclusive practices within the language classroom.
Arnett’s hands-on workshop — Practical Strategies for Differentiated Instruction and Assessment through Technology — will model teaching tools and practices to anchor either online or classroom instruction. Using a second device may be helpful to simultaneously watch the presentation and engage in the activities.
The third presentation will be for school leaders or those considering leadership. Leadership in Support of Inclusive Language Education draws on research about leadership for inclusive practices and second language learning. Participants will co-construct some clear action paths to support more inclusivity within their sphere of influence.
Katy Arnett is a Professor of Educational Studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She is the author of Languages for All: How to Support and Challenge Students in a Second Language Classroom and co-author of Access for Success: Making Inclusion Work for Language Learners.
These and other great presentations are available for the all-time low registration fee of $125 for CASLT and BCATML members. Register today!
