Successful drunk driving task force funded for third year; 2019 DWI deaths down 8 percent WCTI-TV A third year of funding will help an eastern North Carolina sheriff's office continue to crack down on drunk driving. In October 2018, the Onslow County Sheriff's Office received a $1.4 million dollar grant from the North Carolina Governor's Highway Safety Program and used the money to establish and operate a full-time Driving While Impaired Task Force.
