Appointment of Brenda Grealish to the Council on Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health CDCR Recently, the Governor announced the appointment of Brenda Grealish, Chief of the Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Division (MCBHD), to Executive Officer of the Council on Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health. Ms. Grealish has worked for the state for more than 20 years, including as Assistant Deputy Director and Acting Deputy Director of Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Services (now known as Behavioral Health). Her last day with the Department is September 30, and additional information on interim MCBHD leadership is forthcoming. We appreciate Brenda’s ongoing leadership to California’s critical behavioral health system. We will release a MCBHD Chief job announcement soon, and encourage applicants from county behavioral health departments, providers, associations, or others who have a passion for improving behavioral health for California’s most vulnerable as well as strong operational and management skills.
