Pools in Texas allowed to reopen, many to remain closed for now KDFW-TV Gov. Greg Abbott gave cities and pool owners the okay to reopen alongside salons and barbershops recently. However, many cities are not ready just yet. Abbott’s latest executive order states parks, beaches, rivers and lakes may open effective May 8.
