Children with autism are more likely than typical children to have had problems falling asleep as infants, according to a new study. These infants also have more growth in the hippocampus, the brain's memory hub, from age 6 to 24 months.
The study is the first to link sleep problems to altered brain development in infants later diagnosed with autism.
