Local MLA reacts to highway funding Portage Online A major highway in the Portage la Prairie area is getting some love from the province. It's all part of Premier Brian Pallister's $3 billion commitment to infrastructure projects from the 2020 budget. MLA Ian Wishart explains where we can see the work happen. "We are pleased to announce the improvements to Highway 1 and Highway 1A. In particular, we know some spots have gotten quite bad, and we're happy to get them up to standard.
