The Canadian Forces is pushing ahead with rebranding the role of its Challenger jets by claiming they are mainly used for military purposes even as the air force points out their primary job is to transport VIPs such as the prime minister. The rebranding effort came as the Canadian Forces announced June 6 it was spending $105 million on purchasing two new Challenger jets. No competition was held and the contract was awarded directly to Bombardier.
