Clearing land, digging out rocks and moving soil, Mr. Rousehorr — perhaps Rousehorn — started to excavate a mine shaft. He did not find gold or copper, but it was a valuable resource. The landowner found lead. Soft and malleable with hardness of 2.5 on the Mohs Hardness Scale, the dark ore was galena.
