By The Denver Post — If Americans are going to live up to the ideals — equality and basic human rights — put forward by the men who pushed aside monarchy in favor of self-governance 244 years ago, we must be as open to change as our founding fathers were in their time. The death of George Floyd and the ensuing avalanche of video evidence of police misconduct illustrated that our institutions need dramatic change to expel racism and incompetence. That will take time and effort. But in almost every city in America there are small steps that can be taken to immediately show that willingness to change.
