The August special issue of SLAS Discovery, “High-Content Imaging and Informatics,†features a special collection of articles curated by guest editors Myles Fennell, Ph.D., and Paul A. Johnston, Ph.D., (The Society of Biomolecular Imaging and Informatics). The issue contains manuscripts, perspectives and one application note on a wide variety of research on the use of high-content screening (HCS) in the identification of androgenic activity associated with drugs, chemicals or environmental samples and its application to more physiologically relevant three-dimensional cell culture models in drug discovery. The issue also contains research on the use of image-based multiplexed cell painting HCS assays to extract morphological features from cells that can be organized into profiles corresponding to distinct cellular phenotypes. Lastly, the editors have included a summary of the discussion of the SLAS HCS/HCA Data and Informatics Special Interest Group (SIG) held at the SLAS2019 International Conference & Exhibition.
