Pastors and church staff are undoubtedly on the frontlines during this present pandemic, serving those struggling with everything from hunger or physical limitations to mental and spiritual health issues. But one of the needs that might be more difficult to identify is the silent hurt of a victim suffering from domestic abuse.
Since quarantine and shelter-in-place orders began in mid-March, The National Domestic Violence Hotline has seen a significant increase in calls, hospitals have reported an uptick in severe cases of child abuse and news reports show that domestic violence shelters have received much more inquires than normal.
