Women are still only 28% of the science, technology, engineering and math workforce broadly and only 13% of engineers, and a fraction of STEM leadership, but experts are warning that even those gains, could be lost due to the work-from-home dynamic caused by this pandemic. Why? Because during this pandemic-induced economy, decisions are being made “on the fly,†funding is timing out or delayed, and selected people are getting more facetime with the “boss†and on projects, each of which has long-standing effects on people’s careers.
