The 32,400 B.C. patients who had their surgeries cancelled by COVID-19 can expect to have them rescheduled over a span of 15 months, a slight improvement compared with earlier projections, the health ministry said recently. “We catch up at about 15 months. In our initial plan it was 17 to 24 months,†said former Fraser Health CEO Michael Marchbank, who was hired by the province to help plan how to clear the enormous and growing surgical backlog.
