"In March, when the idea of what the world was about to face was new, I was shopping at my local big box store, writes David J. Bunnell, APACVS President. "I came across a sign limiting shoppers to two bags of rice. I texted a picture of it to my friend, our Executive Director David Lizotte. 'Looks like we have entered the rice rationing stage of the pandemic,' I texted to him. 'We are only a step away from Victory Gardens.' I added referring to the gardens people grew to supplement food rations during the second World War. David, being an avid historian, immediately understood the reference and agreed. Yes, we have entered territory not experienced in the modern era but eerily familiar to those who have lived through previous generational-defining global events."
