CVD remains the leading cause of death in the United States, with CAD being the most common cause of death attributable to CVD. Rates of CAD have been on the rise in the U.S. in conjunction with many risk factors for CAD, including diabetes and chronic renal insufficiency, which have been temporally associated with a notable rise in the complexity of CAD.
