As many parts of the economy take a brutal blow from the coronoavirus pandemic, the homebuilding market in Central Texas — at least for now — is a notable exception, new figures show. Second quarter and annual 12-month running totals in the Austin area set records, according to the latest report by Metrostudy, which tracks the five-county Austin-Round Rock housing market from Georgetown to San Marcos.
