It’s rare these days for a week to go by without hearing about another big ransomware event that has either disabled a company or cost an organization millions of dollars in mitigation costs. Garmin was reportedly hit by a ransomware attack on July 23 that took down its Garmin Connect service, which customers use to sync their running and biking data, and aviation database services. The company is currently restoring systems and resuming normal service. It’s not clear if it paid a ransom.
