8% of hospitals get top mark in CMS patient experience star ratings PatientEngagementHIT A total of 266 hospitals, or 8%, received a perfect five-star rating on the CMS Hospital Compare website, which the agency updated at the end of July this year. The bulk of hospitals received either three or four stars, according to an analysis from the Advisory Board. Overall, 32% of hospitals received four stars while 43% received three stars.
