A population of patients with diabetic foot ulcers was investigated for factors involved in healing failure after one year of follow-up. A regular follow-up was performed of 144 patients for one year, who were treated for DFU in a tertiary-care center. Compared with healed group (n = 91), not healed group (n = 53) had significantly higher levels of urinary albumin excretion and significantly increased prevalence of diabetic kidney disease and Charcot Arthropathy.
