Timely primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) should remain first line treatment for patients presenting to the emergency department (ED) with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, according to a joint statement by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Emergency Physicians.
